Helping Community Groups Become the Media

Too many times people from local community organizations have said to us, “I wish I had known about that opportunity before it was gone,” the opportunity to apply for a non-commercial radio station.

CMAP does thorough, systematic and comprehensive outreach and community group assistance, so we do not hear this lament again.

What We Do

     CMAP reaches out to community groups who might be interested in applying for non-commercial radio stations.

     CMAP will: help community groups to prepare an application; help the groups to increase organizational capacity; and then assist those groups through the application process.

What's New

LPFM Outreach Database Project

     CMAP's current project is to produce and maintain a database of groups interested in applying for a non-commercial radio station. The idea is to not duplicate outreach efforts, nor to let groups fall through the cracks.

     To do that, CMAP is producing a comprehensive database of everyone who has an interest in applying, or thinking about applying, or would like to learn more about what that means. Go to the NEWS page for more information.
